Far Verona Wiki

The Promenade on Imperial Prime is a piece of Haqani away from home. It was established right after the end of the Great Journey and is built on Embassy Row near the Imperial Palace. The entrance to the building has grand double doors emblazoned with the Vela Constellation in white and blue. It opens to a large cavernous room, which invokes the caverns of Haqani habitats complete with an artificial night sky at the ceiling, showing the constellations as seen from Haqani. At the front of the room is a reception desk with usually a serf and a V.I. managing all people that do not have made an appointment with a diplomat. The entire embassy is also a giant library filled with bookshelves of all the important writers of Vela and the rest of the noble houses. The walls emulate the glowing fungi on Haqani giving off a soft blue glow. This effect continues to the “waterways” surrounding the outside of the hall. The water in these small artificial canals is imported from Haqani and naturally glows blue. Discrete signs warn non-Velans from drinking the water. There is no direct lighting except at some desks that have reading lights.

The diplomat's offices are on the 2nd floor of the building where all negotiations happen between House Vela and the other houses. Each office is usually decorated to the particular diplomats taste and depending heavily on where they grew up (Pharos, Haqani or in orbit). High-ranking officials can also opt to have their offices on the 3rd floor instead. The halls of the 2nd floor are decorated with fine art from Vela artisans.

The 3rd floor is temporary housing for all Promenade personnel, although some long-serving diplomats choose to reside in private residences near the embassy. These chambers are also for the high-ranking diplomats to refurbish as lavish offices. Notable among those with offices on the third floor is the Rasul to the Imperial Court,  All of the Council of Twelve, and the current Adhya of the Musaeum of Pharos.

The furniture and interior design are all in Velan style, but continue the overall color palette of the embassies design in white and blue. Low tables, comfortable sofas, and the occasional hookah are common. Visitors are treated exceptionally well and offered food and beverages until they cannot say no anymore. Roasted nuts and mushroom chips are offered in little bowls pretty much everywhere.
