The Symposium For The Advancement Of Non-Human Rights is a collaborative endeavour by multiple factions to create an environment in Acheron Rho conducive to the furthering of non-human rights. While the Symposium has attendees from all factions, the three central forces behind the organization's founding were considered to be House Pyxis, The Church of Humanity, Repentant, and the Alien Emancipation Front (AEF).
House Triangulum lent its support to the Symposium in November of 3200, and the Society for Ethical Reform through Aid, Protection, and Humanitarianism (SERAPH) gave its backing in January of 3201.
The Symposium itself is a neutral body, adopting no explicit position besides a vague endorsement of the furthering of non-human rights.
Structure[]
The Symposium's meetings and logistics are organised by the Non-Human Outreach Society, a highly secretive organisation said to have links to the powerful across the sector. Little is publicly known about the society. Due to its deliberately low profile, many remain entirely unaware of its existence.
The Symposium strictly limits itself to matters regarding non-human rights, explicitly abstaining from discussion of other matters. This means that it is perfectly possible for attendants to be locked in a bitter struggle for the future of the sector, both intending to utterly destroy the other and both attend the Symposium. The Symposium rarely finds itself in total agreement.
Recent History[]

A Declaration of Compassionate and Logical Beliefs
While the Symposium has existed in some form or another for a very long time, its most recent incarnation began to gather speed at the beginning of 3200. Encouraged by fresh backing from various sources, the Symposium sought the backing of various major powers in the Sector. Encouraged by early success in these endeavours it began to formulate the Declaration of Compassionate and Logical Beliefs. However, with the threat of war looming ultimately only the three most committed groups -- House Pyxis, the CHR, and the AEF -- would officially sign the Declaration. Of course, any given individual may sign the Declaration, and many have.

SERAPH Joins the Symposium
House Triangulum lent its support to the Symposium in November 3200.
The Society for Ethical Reform through Aid, Protection, and Humanitarianism (SERAPH), shortly after its founding, announced its backing of the Symposium in January 3201.
After the dissolution of both the CHR and the UPC in the winter of 3200, the current main backers of the Symposium are considered to be House Pyxis, House Triangulum, and SERAPH. Attendees and supporters from both the CHR and the Alien Emancipation Front largely rejoined and redirected their support via the SERAPH banner and affiliates, though some members of Repentant sects continue to work with the Symposium more directly as representatives of their particular congregations and orders.
