Originally a Pyxis explorer, Solomon Schezar bravely ventured out to discover a new spike drill route and became what many Pyxis know of as "Voidtouched." While he has no obvious physical wounds from the experience, it seems to have prompted a personality switch and a craving for violence. He killed every one of his crew who were unwilling to convert to piracy, and renamed his ship, once Vela's Last Hope, to The Voidwitch. He deserted Pyxis and the noble houses as a whole, and when he learned of the Vagrant congregation on Shan, he decided it was the last place left in the sector that could accommodate his strange and often irrational urges. Now, Solomon is a particularly bloodthirsty Vagrant. He gives the largest share of spoils to whichever member of his crew inflicts the most menacing wound on those they raid. He attacks sometimes purely to attack, with little interest in monetary name

Traits and Appearance[]

A tall, charcoal-haired man, Solomon is distinguished by his gigantic beard. He has never shaved his entire life, and the result is a three and a half long mass of facial hair. He braids it for convenience.

If you see Solomon in person, you should be praying. He is never merciful, and never interested in parley. Piracy, for him, is just an excuse to harm others.

Biography[]

Born on Lodestone, Solomon grew up alongside a fairly large family and was believed to be an ideal candidate for captaincy. He had a natural aptitude for taking risks, and the kind of passion that Pyxis appreciated. When he finally became Captain, it was easy for him to gain a crew.

However, when trying to find an alternative route to Teuthem, Solomon encountered something. He doesn't like to talk about it. But when pressed, he will say that: "There are things in Spike Space. Speaking things," and leave it at that. Solomon's crew largely emerged as void-touched as he was. Some were left gibbering, unable to even speak. Others became a danger to themselves and others. Still others were in denial that they'd seen anything at all. Until pressed, at which point they would go into a screaming fit. Solomon himself remained remarkably composed, but was left with a craving for blood that could not easily be sated.

There is a part of him that knows something is wrong with him, and desperately wants to find a way to heal. He subdues it constantly.

Solomon committed piracy on his own for years. The war drew attention away from him and allowed him to continue unmolested. In 3,195, he heard of the loose coalition forming on Shan, and traveled there himself to see if they would have him. The answer, as it was to most, was yes. As the years have gone on, though, many in the Vagrant fleet have begun to lose patience with Solomon's violence, anger, and unpredictability.
