The Jel Vaa System is located in Hex #0902in the Acheron Rho sector. Jel Vaa is a binary system, composed of the much larger Jel and the somewhat smaller Vaa. Because of their proximity, Jel and Vaa grew closer together over the millennia until Jel began to pull stellar matter away from Vaa in a long trail that almost seems to connect the two. It is this trail that allows the harvesting of stellar matter on Gleipnir, as the gravitational effects and relative danger are somewhat lessened in the trail compared to the stars themselves.

Thought none of them are inhabited, Gleipnir does share its system with eight other planets, all of which have been mined to some degree for their resources to fuel Gleipnir’s industry. Each planet owes some aspect of its name to one of the nine lindworms of Norse mythology (Gleipnir is sometimes called “The Gnawing Wolf (Grafvitnir)”) and one of the nine Mesoamerican Lords of Night (Gleipnir is sometimes called “Tlazōteōtl” or “T’lazo”).

The planets First Lamb and Second Lamb are especially unusual elements within the system, as they are locked to almost the same orbital path, effectively swapping orbits when one begins to overtake the other, the further moving into a slightly closer orbit and vice versa. It is believed that in several million years, or sooner through a strong enough asteroid impact, one or both of the worlds will move to a new orbital path or ultimately collide in a spectacular stellar event.
