Character Biography[]

Before 3200 (Backstory)[]

Born to House Lyra, to a family that was part of an unnamed secret splinter group, Daam lost his family and left his noble house and name behind soon after the outbreak of the War Against the Artificials. Bereft of everything he'd had before, he choose to dedicate his life to the Church of Humanity Repentant. At the time he was in his early twenties, and taking up the name ‘Daam’ he started preaching his doctrine of the Soul Indivisible. In spite, or perhaps because of, the civil war raging across the sector he soon amassed a sizable following of both nobles and commoners, as well as his own TV show on the PRISM network.

Then, suddenly, with no more explanation than “do not look for me”, he disappeared. Throughout the final decade of the conflict, the assassination of the Cygnus emperor, and the completion of the Crux victory, Daam's whereabouts were unknown.

Only after all was said and done, half-way through 3199, did he return, claiming to have recovered the ancient religious artifact, once thought lost forever, known as the Mandala of the Soul. Claiming to have reached even deeper revelations, he preaches that now more than ever all sentient beings must come to understand the Infinite Chant of the Soul Indivisible, so that from understanding can be born repentance.

During 3200[]

During the tumultuous times of 3200, Daam quickly rose through the ranks of the Church of Humanity, Repentant, becoming a key figure in the Church's accesion to the STO and a signator of the Treaty of Cabina.

Epilogue (3201 and beyond)[]

After the STO's, and thus the CHR's, loss of the conflict of 3200, the Repentant Church was dissolved. Daam was eventually tried during the Cabina Inquiries, and found unaccountable for his actions due to a well argued insanity defense.

Though he managed to escape being shipped to Gleipnir, after being declared insane in a most public manner, coupled with self-doubt and guilt over his hand in pushing the CHR to its eventual doom and his indirect complicity in all the horrors of the STO war, Daam ceased to be the energetic and charismatic mystic he once was.

A broken man, he wanders the streets of Lux Gravare and Mugenjishi in his robes, still joining Infinite Chant meditations but no longer preaching, only listening. To those passing him by, he seems like no more than another tired, old, clergyman. Only when listening to people talk about souls does he regain that twinkle in his eyes, the barest hint that he still sees some light no one else does in the cold and cruel cosmos of Acheron Rho.
