Cara Tassis is a ship engineer and former representative of the Movement for a Democratic Void (MDV). She was the permanent representative to the Unified People's Collective (UPC) for the MDV. She became the Movement's first representative to the UPC and later a Councilor in the UPC's Council.

Early Life[]

Tassis was born in Talcott, an asteroid orbital in the (63) Moreux asteroid belt, in 3172. In 3189, she entered a Fornax-managed trade school for ship engineering. Following graduation, Tassis began working at a shipyard owned by a subsidiary of House Eridanus and ACRE.

On 19 September, 3196, an explosion occurred at a House Reticulum shipyard in which Tassis was working. She lost her right arm and suffered multiple puncture wounds. The "accident", an incident suspected by many of the shipyard workers to be an anti-synth operation carried out in conjunction with House Crux Inquisitors, was never officially reported by the shipyard's management.

Tassis received her characteristic cybernetic prosthetic thanks to the efforts of the Alliance of Shipbuilders and Drydock Workers (ASDW), a group representing workers in corporate and noble shipyards.

Joining the MDV[]

During her recovery, Tassis joined the Talcott branch of the United Democratic Habitats (UDH). She was also raised to the status of an official member in the political wings of the ASDW and the Federation of Maintenance and Mechanics (FMM).

Tassis was elected to the MDV's Assembly in 3197 as a representative of Talcott. She gained a reputation in the Assembly as someone who could build consensus from disparate groups and enjoys the support of multiple groups. Tassis was reelected to the Assembly in 3199 by a wide margin.

Life in the UPC[]

Tassis arrived on Yakiyah as the solo Permanent Representative of the MDV late in 3199. Finding herself a moderate in the Collective, Tassis ran for and won a seat on the UPC's first Council. She served as a Councilor throughout 3200, resigning only with the dissolution of the UPC.

Aside from her duties as a Councilor, Tassis spent much of her time on planet helping to maintain and repair UPC ships. She also traveled across the sector to meet operatives on behalf of the Collective and rally support in various locales.

Dissolution of the UPC[]

Tassis returned to Yakiyah for the Yakiyan Mandate's first elections, providing electoral support to Yakiyan Agricultural Freight and Shipping Combine (YAFSC). She would serve in the final UPC Council, attempting to keep the Collective together against the onslaught of Imperial forces. Tassis resigned from her post as Councilor when the Council finally dispersed.

Tassis returned to (63) Moreux to serve out the rest of her term as an Assembly representative. Disheartened by the dissolution of the UPC, she declined to run for re-election. Tassis now spends her time fixing ships and organizing unions in (63) Moreux.
