Far Verona Wiki

(63) Moreux is one of two asteroid belts in the Alvero system, bisecting the space between Tiber and Aomori. The belt contains mostly mining stations run by House Reticulum and House Eridanus, though a few ACRE operations exist as well. (63) Moreux is often forgotten by its planetary overlords, leading to budding anti-noble sentiment among the mines and habitats of the belt.

Habitats[]

Most of the population of (63) Moreux live in habitats, which either orbit a larger asteroid or are carved into the rock itself. The habitats are generally separate from the mining operations, though in the best there have been stories of a habitat mining its rock into vacuum.

  • Odaiba: The largest habitat by population. Nominally ruled over by House Reticulum.
  • Talcott: The belt's primary shipyard, operated by a former ACRE subsidiary. Home to the Alliance of Shipyard and Drydock Workers (ASDW).
  • Dacia: The current trading hub of the Asteroid belt. House Eridanus has its main offices in the belt here. Also home to the United Democratic Habitats (UDH).
  • Valera: The belt's largest mining operation, overseen by House Eridanus. Contains many of the former inhabitants of Carthage.
  • Nine Yards: The smallest habitat by population. Home to a House Reticulum ammunition manufactory.
  • Carthage (destroyed): The former trading hub of the asteroid belt. Destroyed in 3185 by a combined Crux-Eridanus force, prompting the creation of the Council for Non-Planetary Representation (CN-PR).

The Movement for a Democratic Void[]

(63) Moreux is the birthplace of the Movement for a Democratic Void (MDV), an alliance of several democratic groups on habitats and unions of shipyard workers throughout Alvero. The Movement's constituent organizations are peaceful, known for their community outreach and generosity. A few reprisals from the ruling authorities have been made against these groups, but they are few and far between.

The Trishula[]

A Cyanocitta type Velite operated by House Reticulum, The Trishula was stationed in the Moreux belt to monitor for potential incursions into the system by "House" Vagrant or attacks on the Moreux belt by pirates from the nearby Udzha belt. Captained by Rakshasa 蛇首 Amara, a young noblewoman from Aomori, the ship has sat idle at the edge of the belt for almost a year.
